This project is a collaboration with the non-profit “Engineers Without Borders” and focuses on scoping, designing, and developing the Hidden Springs Picnic Area in the Angeles National Forest. Hidden Springs is the new site proposed in February, 2017 by the Forest Service engineering team and is approximately 16 miles from the La Cañada and Tujunga communities, located on Angeles Forest Highway, just outside the boundary of the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument. OACLA’s participation included proposing various designs for the new picnic shelters that will service the site as well as coming up with innovative ways for the public to engage with the site and learn about the surrounding forest. This project is currently on hold.
